At this level students are introduced to forms originating from several different schools. Generally they are more martial, have different movement patterns, and require greater strength than the previous levels.
This form continues student progress with weapons. The straight sword is a double edged blade. (Students must purchase a sword if they want to learn this form.) It has slow movements that improve focus and precision.
These two forms are fast and require strength, endurance, and precise strikes. Strikes are made with both hands and feet.
This series of very small forms introduces the student to the last of the 3 major Chinese internal arts. These form teach a direct, aggressive and linear fighting style. Body compression and expansion are emphasized. This collection consists of santi training (with 5 element drill), 5 roads, and the linkage short forms are taught.
Tai Chi 24 is a form that combines movements from Yang, Chen and Hsing-I. This form was created during China's cultural revolution to help unify the martial arts community. It is a relatively short form consisting of 24 moves and is typically taught over 2 months.
Three Indonesians forms came to the school from Guru Daniel Prasetya.
These forms focus on slow and deliberate movements and are generally taught in one month.
A variety of different experiences help broaden the student's martial arts experience.
Tea Cups (sometimes referred to as Chi Cups) are a qigong exercise that come to the school from Dr. Love. They focus on invigorating the meridians and moving the chi through the body. They also help improve wrist, spine, shoulder and neck flexibility.
This is the third component of the five Animals Frolic series. The first two sets were required for 1st brown sash. This is a neigong exercise that focuses on activating the meridians without the use of the breath.
Sembahan is a meditation / reaffirmation mantra that encourages the student to examine their past, investigate their future and helps encourage kind/warm thinking. It has a Javanese heritage and comes to the school from Guru Daniel.
The first 15 applications were taught at the lower levels. Now a total of 44 applications are taken from the Yang form. These applications help the student realise the many different ways a specific movement could be applied.
